We Believe…
We believe that consistent attendance supports the academic and social emotional well-being of all students. If your child is going to be absent from school, please call the office before 8:15am at 719-234-5100. If a student is absent and no call has been received, a Prairie Hills staff member will contact the parent to check on the student.
Absence Reasons
Students should only be absent form school in case of illness, unusual family difficulties, or emergencies.
Tardies
If your child arrives to school after 8:15am, a parent should sign the student in at the office. The student will receive a tardy pass and be admitted into class.
Early Checkout
If your child must be picked up from school early, a parent/guardian will sign the child out at the front office. You will be asked to show identification upon arrival. The student will be called from class once the checkout process is complete.
Make-Up Work
Students will receive their make-up work upon their return to school. Students have one day for every day they were absent to complete their work.
Absence Reporting
Daily and quarterly records monitor student attendance and tardies which are reported on the student report card.
