I am excited and honored to be returning to the Prairie Hills community! I chose this career because I enjoy working with children and believe that each child has the ability to be successful. As your school counselor, I work collaboratively with students, teachers, staff, and parents to meet the needs of all students through whole-class guidance lessons, small group instruction, and individual counseling. Please let me know how I can support your student and your family.
I am a native of Colorado and have been a resident of Colorado Springs since 1989. My husband and I have two teenage daughters - a sophomore in college and a senior in high school. This summer was a "stay"-cation where we took advantage of all of the beauty Colorado has to offer. We adopted a little dog (much to my cat's dismay) who has been a great addition to our family!
How to meet with the counselor
A student can make an appointment to see the counselor by filling out an orange "I would like to see the counselor" slip available in the classroom
A parent or guardian can ask that the student meet with the counselor
A teacher can ask the counselor to see a student
In each case the counselor will work with the teacher to arrange a time to meet in order to minimize disruption to the student's learning day.
*Please note that counseling in the school setting must be brief in nature. If long-term therapy is desired, the school counselor can coordinate a referral to a community agency or therapist.
