Welcome to Prairie Hills Elementary!
All Students will Learn to their Maximum Potential
To be an exemplary elementary school in Colorado
ü All students will demonstrate academic growth to achieve their personal best.
ü All students will demonstrate social and emotional learning in relation to self and others.
We uphold four common commitments which we believe to be of the highest value and are non-negotiable at Prairie Hills Elementary:
ü Bell to Bell Instruction and Learning
ü Instruction and Assessment Align to the Colorado Academic Standards
ü Highest Level of Collaboration and Communication Among All Stakeholders
ü Highest Level of Student Learning and Engagement
We value our student, parent and community voices as a part of our group of stakeholders. We strongly encourage and welcome families to be involved in the educational process. Together we can ensure your child learns to his or her maximum potential.
About the Principal
My family is my love. I am married to Tom, a successful elementary PE teacher and wonderful father. We have two amazing little boys running around our house and three sweet dogs. We love to play and explore Colorado together and try to make every moment count!
I am a Colorado Native. I grew up in Denver and moved to Pueblo to attend Colorado State University-Pueblo where I received my Bachelor of Arts in English and Education. I started my teaching career as a high school English teacher in southern Colorado Springs. I earned my Master of Arts in Teaching at Colorado College. I earned my Doctorate of Education in K-12 Education Leadership from Jones International University in Centennial, CO. I am starting my ninth year in school administration, and my second year as Principal of Prairie Hills Elementary.
About the Assistant Principal
I am a wife and mom of three wonderful, energetic and loving children. My husband, Keith, and our three children, Will (13), Makayla (11) and Kensley (4), enjoy spending time with our two dogs, Payton and Scout. We also enjoy spending time where I grew up in Cuchara, CO.
I was born in South Dakota and lived in Sioux Falls until I was 14 years old. We then moved to Cuchara, CO where I attended Primero Jr/Sr High School. After High School I attended the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs where I received my Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry and Biology. I received my Master of Arts in Teaching and my Principal License Certificate from the University of Phoenix. This is my 11th year in District 20. I was previously a 7th grade science teacher for 8 years at Discovery Canyon Campus Middle School and most recently the Induction Coordinator and Teacher on Special Assignment in the Professional Learning Department at the District Office. I am excited to start my administrative career here at Prairie Hills Elementary School.
We look forward to working with you!
